Jojoba Oil x Rosehip Oil: Comparison & Benefits

Our homegrown Australian Jojoba is bursting with essential omega fatty acids 6 & 9, vitamins A, D & E, as well as liquid wax esters - which are the closest botanical match to our skin’s natural oil. This allows our skin to carry products deeper into the skin, providing maximum benefits for all skin types.

When looking into the benefits of Rosehip Oil, you’ll find that it is rich in omega fatty acid 3, which is important in strengthening the skin membranes and managing hydration. Similarly to Jojoba, it is also rich in vitamins A, D & E, which work together to moisturise, heal and strengthen the skin barrier. As opposed to a wax ester however, Rosehip Oil is a triglyceride, which means it is a nutritious oil that generally sits on the upper layer of the skin, providing goodness superficially.

When combined, Jojoba and Rosehip Oil form to create a magical wax ester and triglyceride mix and provide a full spectrum of essential omegas that are vital in feeding your skin the nutrition it needs to remain healthy.

Jojoba’s nature as a wax ester means it is able to carry both itself and the Rosehip Oil further down into the skin, ensuring your skin receives the full benefits from the two.

Stop and smell the rose-hips

So where does Rosehip Oil come from?
Rosehip Oil is derived from rosehips, which is fruit that grows on a rosebush. These tiny, red, edible fruits can be found when roses are still left on the bush after they die. High in Vitamin A, rosehip oil is thought to have amazing benefits for the skin.

Aside from being used to treat dry skin, inflammation and hyperpigmentation on the skin, rosehip oil has also been noted as a folk remedy for arthritis and joint pain. In fact, a 2003 trial found that when osteoarthritis patients took rosehip powder over a period of 4 months, they reported a significant reduction in pain compared to the patients who were given a placebo. Interestingly enough, these same patients who reported a reduction in pain also reported an improvement in their mood, wellbeing and sleep quality.

Here at The Jojoba Company we love natural remedies, which is why we’re a fan of Rosehip Oil - and what better way to honour it than to combine it with our much-loved Wadi Wadi Australian Jojoba?

Jojoba + Rosehip Oil = A Match Made In Heaven

By combining Jojoba and Rosehip Oil, the rosehip is carried deeper into the skin than it is able to go on its own. Therefore, your skin will receive maximum benefit from both products. Below are the benefits of this nutrition-packed combination:

  • Increased concentrations of vitamins A, D and E, as well as antioxidants
  • The full spectrum of fatty acids, omegas 3,6 & 9
  • Concentrated beta carotene (turns to vitamin A) as both Rosehip Oil and Jojoba contain large amounts of this
  • The benefits of both wax esters and triglyceride oil in one
  • Jojoba carries the nutrients in the Rosehip further down into the skin where it can make a difference
  • A longer shelf life for rosehip once combined with jojoba, meaning more uses and for longer!
  • A perfect combination to target stretch marks or scarring due to the concentration of vitamins, omegas, wax esters and nutrients
  • Non-greasy as jojoba is not an oil and Rosehip is more of a dry oil
  • Will not clog pores as the non comedogenic nature of jojoba means it will help open up the pores, not clog them
