15 Reasons to Love Jojoba
If you're seeking a natural, versatile, and effective ingredient to elevate your skincare game, look no further than Jojoba!
Derived from the bean of the Jojoba plant, there’s a whole lot of reasons why our golden liquid deserves a permanent spot in your skincare routine. From its remarkable moisturising properties and ability to balance oily skin to its soothing and anti-aging effects, Jojoba is a true game-changer.
Did you know this July is our 15th Birthday? We want to celebrate our Jojoba, so here are 15 reasons why we think you need Jojoba in your everyday routine!
1. Australian owned and grown
We're an Australian owned business, who have been growing Jojoba on our NSW Beresford Farm for over 20 years.
You can feel good knowing you're supporting an Aussie business!
2. We're natural
Our mantra is 'Smarter Natural Skincare'. We believe that natural skincare can be just as efficacious as non-natural, and we're here to prove it! All of our products feature ingredients found in nature, so you don't have to worry about nasty chemicals or additives that impair your skin.
3. Our strain of Jojoba is unique
Our Wadi Wadi Australian Jojoba is a unique strain - the only one of its kind in the world!
Not only is it special because it's grown on our NSW farm, but it contains higher amounts of omega 9 than any other strain of Jojoba.
Omega 9 fatty acids in skincare provide moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits, promoting hydrated, soothed, and protected skin.
4. We're vegan-friendly and cruelty free
Put simply, we care about nature - and that includes animals. We are PETA certified, so you can feel good knowing what you put on your skin has been created without harm to animals or the planet.
5. Suitable for all skin types
If you've got sensitive or easily irritated skin, you'll never have to worry about a reaction from our products.
6. Sustainably grown
Our farm manager Tavis and the team take exceptional care of our NSW Jojoba farm. We are always working to implement new processes that will help take better care of our soil, like green compost, mulching and cover cropping.
Not only are our products incredibly hydrating, but their plant-powered ingredients are actually backed by science!
Clinically proven to target dryness, ageing, pigmentation and breakouts, we've carefully curated our products to include ingredients that work together for maximum benefit.
Many avoid oils as they can clog the pores, however our Jojoba is non comedogenic! This means you won't have to worry about pore-clogging and breakouts.
9. Jojoba isn't an oil
Contrary to popular belief, Jojoba isn't actually an oil at all. It is in fact a liquid wax ester, which holds an identical molecular structure to the naturally produced oils in our skin.
This helps it to penetrate deeper than most oils, as the skin recognises Jojoba as its own and becomes more receptive to Jojoba's vitamins and omegas.
10. Jojoba is a multitasker
Jojoba has a variety of benefits for the body. It can be used on skin, body, hair, nails, beards, for young skin and for old skin, and on any skin type.
Jojoba mimics the naturally produced oils in our skin. When it is applied to the skin, it provides deep hydration and moisturisation, sending our skin the message that it does not need to produce more oil. That is why it is so effective for regulating oil production for oily skin.
In terms of hair, our Jojoba will benefit all hair types, however, we recommend it to those with more curly hair types, as Jojoba will help to keep the scalp moisturised, reducing frizz.
When you see our Australian Jojoba on the shelf, you can rest assured that the bottle has had nothing added to it.
Even further, we don't use any chemical fertilisers on our Jojoba trees, so from bean to bottle, we ensure our process is clean and vegan.
13. Jojoba is bursting with vitamins and omegas
Our pure Jojoba contains vitamins A, D & E, plus omegas 6 & 9.
These vitamins help promote cell turnover, healthy skin cell growth and protect skin from damage from free radicals.
14. Jojoba is a natural emollient
Emollients are oil-rich components that treat dry, flaky skin, leaving you smooth and soft.
Natural emollients are preferable to synthetic emollients, as they don’t restrict the skin’s respiration and don’t contain residues of toxic chemicals.
Additionally, Jojoba is clinically proven to provide up to 8 hours of moisturisation*
*Claims based on clinical tests on 10 women between 25-59 years of age.
15. Jojoba can improve the efficacy of your other products
Jojoba mimics the skin's natural sebum and this similar structure allows jojoba to create a lightweight, non-greasy barrier that facilitates the absorption of other skincare products applied on top.
Think of it as creating a smooth path for other ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin.
